Throwing Shade - Chancer

Throwing Shade turns her dark, mystical sound to something a bit more club-minded on her new single.

Following up her '19 Jewels' EP for No Pain In Pop earlier this year, abstract 'n' ethereal dance producer Throwing Shade has shared a new single for Bristol label Happy Skull.

Compared to the droning, nodding R&B of Pure Life and the almost-pop of Sweet Tooth, the new tracks on the single are way closer to a club record, though they still have that dark, occultish mysticism to them that makes Throwing Shade's sound so distinctive. Chancer is an ethereal club construction, while Blanx feels like a sort of companion piece, falling into a twilight zone about halfway through.

Both of Throwing Shade's tracks are streaming now, and the full single is rounded out by a techno rework of the lead track by Kowton.
