Lone's new album 'Reality Testing' is a great record from the lushest producer and beatmaker. "Beatmaker" is the important word there, because on 'Reality Testing' Lone returns in a big way to the hip hop beats – big, bright boom bap – that coloured his earliest records. There are still some of the rave tones of 2012's 'Galaxy Gardens' present – notably on Aurora Northern Quarter – and some skittier, jazzier house tracks, but all in all, it's another step forward for the ever-evolving yet always-distinctive producer.
Ahead of its release next week, you can the whole thing (with the exception of Airglow Fires, left out due to Soundcloud's irritating copyright detection) below.
Lone is debuting a new live A/V show, with visuals from regular collaborator Konx-om-Pax, next week (Wednesday June 18th).
R&S Records release 'Reality Testing ' on June 16th 2014.
