Hawkon - Dare To Follow Me

Hawkon is a singer and musician originally hailing from Bergen, but nowadays he lives in London, where he makes a type of understated and earnest pop music.

Two songs are up on his Soundcloud. The first, Touching Air, takes its sonic cues from mid-'80s funk and R&B music – no surprise, given he used the same gear of the era to make it with. But it's his most recent, Dare To Follow Me, that's the most interesting of the two: adopting a more modern approach in its production, Dare To Follow Me is an airy pop ballad, with Hawkon's falsetto gliding gently over the top.

Dare To Follow Me is the title track of Hawkon's forthcoming debut EP, which features co-production and mixing from Blue May, a key musician and engineer on Kindness's new album, 'Otherness'. Expect details of that to surface soon.
