Wu Lyf, a band who released some extraordinary MP3s last year that combined a love of Nick Cave with the hugeness of Spiritualized and samples of G-funk. A rapturous fanbase seemed to build, not least based on the Manchester band’s unwillingness to give proper interviews or play normal gigs, preferring to use their website to foster a sense of community and belonging. Their album ‘Go Tell Fire to the Mountain’ was released this summer, and while it didn’t quite explode in the way many expected – cattier sections of the music industry have suggested that this is another result of their unwillingness to give proper interviews or play normal gigs – it’s a pretty great album, and a new cut has been released.
