Sons & Daughters's new album 'Mirror Mirror' out on 13th June

The Glasgow band will drop their third album via Domino.

Glasgow four-piece Sons & Daughters are due to release their third album ‘Mirror Mirror’ in June. This will be a follow-up to their 2008 release ‘The Gift’. Vocalist and guitarist of the band, Scott Paterson claims that they have reached back to their own past for inspiration – particularly from their 2004 debut mini-album ‘Love The Cup’ and 2006’s ‘The Repulsion Box’. “We sound better when we’re more minimal. We wanted everything on the new album to be necessary, no added fluff, and only recording on 16-track,” he says.

JD Twitch aka Keith Mclvor from Optimo has produced this full length album. “We knew someone like Keith could be really honest with us,” adds Scott. “He has great taste in music, and we also knew we wanted to start using electronics, and he’s really into his dance music.” Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, These New Puritans) also contributed in the mixing.

Sons & Daughters will be doing a few UK gigs, check below for their tour dates:

May 13 – The Great Escape, Brighton
May 21 – Stag & Dagger – Glasgow School Of Art
Jun 9 – The Lexington, London (special one-off show)
July 2 – Kelburn Garden Party, Kelburn

Domino will release Sons & Daughters’ ‘Mirror Mirror’ on 13th June, 2011.
