"We don't need a love affair," Solange sings over the opening strains of her new track, written for her recent 'Saint Heron' compilation of the best of experimental R&B in 2013. Shunning the conventional love-centric narrative of R&B from the offset, this is a bold and sweetly gospel-infused pop song, cushioned with plush harmonies and providing a showcase for Solange's far-reaching vocal. It's still got the loose, fresh feel of a Solange track, though, with cowbell-accentuated rhythms and handclaps recalling the zest of Losing You and Lovers in the Parking Lot.
