Slava - Soft Control

Born in Moscow, raised in Chicago and now based in Brooklyn, Slava is skilled at teasing the subconscious with flickers and ghosts of aural memories. Like Ital, he’s drawn to sampling pop icons, turning to Britney’s whisper, searingly poignant in its emptiness, on I’ve Got Feelings Too from his debut EP ‘Soft Control’. It’s File that gets me most hyped though: bubbling somewhere between Detroit techno and Chicago footwork, and somehow sounding like London. Global soundwaves for 2012.
