Skream – Anticipate [stream]

Oliver Jones makes trance dubstep song for his rewborn child, it bangs.

There’s this simple story of Skream, that holds him up as the man that, along with other men of 2004 Benga and Artwork realised suddenly dubstep’s pop potential and went on to fill stadiums with their band Magnetic Man, but for me the thing that’s always struck me most about Skream’s work is the way it so neatly articulates that hoolie swagger of the best chart dance, and his career has followed a neat upward trajectory, the huge ambition and pure emotion of tracks like his new one, Anticipate, written for his new born son. Listen below, and buy it on Rinse/Tempa from the 14 November.
