Siren Ambience [blog]
Dancing is just about the most exhibitionist you can be but it’s also the most personal. Really getting into it, I mean really getting into it, means letting go of all of the everyday crap and feeling comfortable enough to lose yourself in that moment – no matter who might be watching.
The people in the many YouTube videos collected together on the Siren Ambience blog do just that and the combined effect is utterly mesmerising. There’s dancing in hallways, in front of washing machines, in bedrooms, in corners. What unites the dancers is that the song they all chose to video themselves to is DJ Nate’s What A Night from a couple of years back. It’s a sludgy, vaguely sleazy, wholly bodily track. Perfect to cut lose to, to dance in slow motion to, to show the world what you got. Check it here.
