Sinden: Gucci Mane mixtape drops Friday

Sinden releases free mixtape entitled 'Gucci 2: The Great Burrrtish Edition' featuring Tinchy Stryder, Hudson Mohawke, These New Puritans and more.

Remember when Mad Decent mastermind Diplo’s Free Gucci mixtape came out last year, and how it blew the roof off the label’s server? This year, Sinden, owner of new dance label Grizzly, aims to continue the legacy, and enlisted his fellow Burrrtish to remix Gucci Mane’s ‘The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted’, collaborating them into a mixtape called ‘Gucci 2: The Great Burrrtish Edition’.

Sinden approached strictly British artists, rallying together the UK producers and rappers to create an exclusive mixtape. High profile MCs such as Tinchy Stryder, Wiley, Ghetts, and Slick Don have laid down some verses, along with remixes from Sinden himself, as well as Hudson Mohawke, Toddla T, FunkinEven, These New Puritans, Duke Dumont, and many more.

Sinden claims, “Gucci has been on my radar a long time – I’ve always waited with baited breath for the next tape to drop. To have the opportunity to curate a mixtape of his material and A&R the project is a dream gig and I knew that with the talent over here it would yield some really interesting results. We’ve seen how mixtapes are instrumental to the success of rappers in the US, and in Gucci’s case it really got the buzz out there. As a rap listener, I’ll go straight for the mixtapes – they’re a good indicator of what is exciting. To be a part of that Gucci legacy, with this mixtape, is also a big appeal for me – thats some nice history.”

Keeping up with his latest Gucci Mane mixtape, Sinden will be collaborating with SBTRKT to release a brand new single. His first solo single will also be debuted later this year in April.
