Sampha – Indecision [stream]

Sampha’s strengths as a singer (best male cords in London? We’re calling it, right now) can lead to his strengths as a producer getting overlooked. For me though, they’re one and the same. In a time when so much electronic music is soaked in presets, Sampha’s tracks have the quality of something sung, and Sampha’s voice in particular – they happen at the speed of thought, intuitive, unthought-out, beautiful.

Anyway, this lovely track popped up on his Soundcloud overnight, and it’s a great sign of what he can do, both as a vocalist and a producer. It’s a man, at his piano, pouring out his heart as he comes off tour. And it’s a sign of great, great things.
