Sampa The Great, Trim, Gucci Mane + more added to Dummy’s NEXT HYPE playlist

Plus new music from Snowy, Flohio, Taliwoah and more...

With the week (and the year) winding down into its inevitable, endless list-making (watch this space for Dummy’s!), the music industry is winding down too. That said, there’s been a ton of great new music being released – which we’ve gone and added to our NEXT HYPE playlist, including classic Eski sounds from Trim and OSSA, the dream team that is Flohio x Clams Casino x Cadenza, hectic grime from Snowy, bassy stabs from Laurel Halo and Hodge, plus lots more.

We’ve had a busy past five days, including launching a brand new dance/rain jacket in collaboration with cult cycling brand BBUC, meeting Swiss-Angolan newcomer Naim whose ‘Road’ is the latest of a string of super DIY projects and chatting to MC Kwam and Shy One about their recent collaborative EP ‘Spoons’ – named as an ode to JD. In addition to that, Depeche Mode ex-synth designer The Mountain Range (a man who knows a lot about synths) listed the ten best ’80s synth tracks, while Howie B gave us his top ten outer space-themed cuts. We commissioned Brainfeeder artist and TAR Records boss PBDY to record us a mix – the thrilling, dizzying outcome of which did not disappoint, while Bristol lynchpin Peverelist did us a 100% Smith & Mighty mix to celebrate the brand new compilation drawing together the sounds of the original Bristol innovators.
