Reginald Omas Mamode IV - Sunshine

Stoned but soulful beat from Reginald Omas Mamode IV's new 12" for Five Easy Pieces.

Reginald Omas Mamode IV is a part of a crew of musicians, beatmakers, and producers centred around labels like 22a, Rhythm Section International, and IZWID, artists like Paul White, Flako, and Mo Kolours, and places like Rye Lane in Peckham. It's a world of stoned but soulful beatmaking, where the eager-eared listener will hear spiritual similarities to the likes of D'Angelo, Theo Parrish, J Dilla, and John Coltrane.

We premiered Reggie's last EP, 'As We Move', when it was released in June last year, and Dummy's Jake Hulyer also investigated his world in an in-depth feature. He's got a new EP due out, once again via Five Easy PiecesSunshine is its first song, featuring Reggie's own mumbled vocal over a slothful groove. Look out for reprise versions by Jeen Bassa and Al Dobson Jr on the 12", too.

Five Easy Pieces released Sunshine/Moneymaker on March 9th 2015 (buy).
