Real Lies – North Circular (BBC Maida Vale Session)

North London trio share a brilliant live recording of a new song.

Real Lies were recently guests on Huw Stephens' show on BBC Radio One, where they aired three live recordings from Maida Vale. Besides performing previous A-sides World Peace and Deeper, the session saw the North London three-piece air a previously unheard new song called North Circular.

North Circular is a romantic ballad dedicated to the souls that inhabit the dead flyover towns surrounding the monstrous slab of pavement of the song's title. The 808s pump as singer Kev Kharas's delivery becomes more and more impassioned. It almost sounds as if he's on the verge of tears. The first three minutes are all build-and-release, but when it pays off, it's properly spine-tingling. We can't wait to hear a studio version.

Get to know Real Lies in our short profile of them, and listen to Pariah's recent remix of World Peace.
