R.I.P. David Bowie

The family of David Bowie has announced that the musician has died at his home at the age of 69 after an eighteen month battle with cancer.

David Bowie's son Duncan confirmed on Twitter this morning (January 11th) that the singer-songwriter passed away peacefully today surrounded by his family. A statement issued on David Bowie's official Facebook page reads as follows:

"January 10, 2016 – David Bowie died peacefully today [sic] surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."

On Friday (January 8th), David Bowie released his 26th studio album on his 69th birthday.
