Premiere: Sinkane - New Name

Another ridiculously tight piece of funk from Sinkane's new album 'Mean Love'.

Sinkane recently introduced his new album 'Mean Love' with a jam called Hold Tight. Here's another song from the record, called New Name.

Way more upbeat than Hold Tight's sleek, sultry, gospel-Sade vibe, on New Name Sinkane seems determined to prove that he's one of the funkiest artists around right now. Anyone who caught the William Onyeabor tribute shows that Sinkane led will know he has the capacity to lead an impossibly groovy live band, but here's your proof that he can pull off the same in the studio. It's just got such ridiculously tight drum play, such a taut bassline, such a warm bass tone that cuts down to the soul… and then there's the brass.

What we're basically saying is that, unless you're dead on the inside, this song should hit the sweet spot and get you moving.
