Premiere: Only Real - Blood Carpet

We bloody love Only Real, so we’re obviously ecstatic to bring you the exclusive stream of his new track, Blood Carpet.

Far from the violence that the name hints at, Blood Carpet has got the West Londoner’s hazy romanticism all over it, with the coaxing refrain “oooh, I can’t forget you at all” weaving in and out of breezy guitars and breathlessly delivered, lyrically arch verses. All the music we’ve heard from Only Real (Niall Galvin, to his proverbial) so far is basically about being young and having a lot of time on your hands, and it sounds as good as that feels.

The new song forms one half of a double A-side with the dreamy Backseat Kissers, and Galvin will play a special one-off gig at the Shacklewell Arms on the 28th January to celebrate its release.
