Premiere: Jaz Karis remixes Dayo Bello’s soul-stirring ‘You’

South East London’s Dayo Bello is a unique talent – a BRIT School alumnus who previously shared a classroom with Rex Orange County, his soulful vocals have drawn comparisons with the likes of Sampha and Tom Misch.

Ahead of dropping his ‘360’ EP, which includes sun-drenched number ‘Something To You’, we’re pleased to present the remix of ‘You’ which appears on the record, and features the vocals of his friend, ‘spiritual songbird’ Jaz Karis.

Of the remix, Dayo says: “It was a pleasure being able to get my friend Jaz on the song to tell another perspective – from a female point of view that’s replying to what I’ve already said. She tells me it ‘feels like an empty dream, when you’re not here with me’. In her own way she tells me how much she adores me just like I’ve done.”

Gently layered guitars and Dayo’s gently winding melodies are counteracted by Jaz, who provides the response to his call – you can check it out exclusively below.
