Premiere: James Wolf – Heart & Soul (D/R/U/G/S remix)

Manchester producer drops an uplifting and super-melodic pop remix.

Fresh-faced London vocalist and songwriter James Wolf has been remixed by Manchester producer D/R/U/G/S.

James Wolf's new single, Heart & Soul, is a bit of good-and-proper pop music from an artist who seems to be aiming for the stars, but in D/R/U/G/S' hands, it's a bit different. While he definitely keeps a strong element of pop intact, retaining Wolf's original vocal line almost in its entirety (he throws it off slightly by pitching it done a couple of notches), D/R/U/G/S turns the instrumental into a bit of syrupy, uplifting, ultra-melodic techno that wouldn't sound out of place on a Kompakt release.

D/R/U/G/S was responsible for one of Dummy's most conceptual mixes back in 2012, turning in a set comprised entirely of his own chopped and screwed EDM edits. It's a lot better than that description makes it sound, honest.

Herculean Records will release Heart & Soul on February 10th 2014.
