Premiere: Ian Drennan - 'The Wonderful World' [album stream]

Listen in full to the New Jersey musician's stunning debut album on Underwater Peoples.

‘The Wonderful World’ is the debut solo album from New Jersey musician and former Big Troubles man Ian Drennan. It is a bold, thrilling record that deserves a full, arms-out-wide, run-up, bear hug. Opener Die Weiberherrschaft lifts a curtain of freeform jazz to reveal a Twin Peaks-esque limbo land through which one must stumble to reach the song’s ecstatic finale. Elaine The Fair finds Drennan tiptoeing, Syd Barratt-like, through a fairytale underworld. And the minimalist chimes of Cannonade, which Dummy premiered back in July, converge in a Jam City-evoking architectural dream. We’re ultra chuffed to present the album in full to preview now, ahead of its release on Underwater Peoples next week. Enjoy.

Underwater Peoples will release Ian Drennan’s debut solo album ‘The Wonderful World’ on 11th September 2012
