Premiere: Ghostpoet – Cold Win (Lorca remix)

The MC's brooding, jazzy track becomes an icy smooth groove in the deft hands of the Brighton producer.

Where the original version of our favourite mumbler Ghostpoet's Cold Win – the second single to be taken from his recent album 'Some Say I So I Say Light' – is a brooding, jazzy number cut through with icy glitches and blasts of brass, this excellent remix from Brighton-born, London-based producer (and another Dummy favourite) Lorca injects the whole thing with a more urgent shuffle. Dancing along on a bubbly 4/4 groove and warped by vocal echoes and bass wobbles, it's on the whole much more energetic than the ruminative original , but achieves this without losing any of the track's jazz-inflected sensibility or clean, metallic edges. Stream it exclusively here.

Ghostpoet goes on tour this October – get more information on that and tickets here. The 'Cold Win' remix package is out on Monday 26th August with remixes from Lorca, Typesun, Special Request, Roska and The Busy Twist – you can pre-order your copy here.
