UK born/NYC based producer Durban is part of the Lit City Trax family, the Brooklyn label who've put out records by Chicago footwork luminaries DJ Rashad, DJ Spinn and Traxman and South London grime producer Visionist. As well as regularly playing out alongside J-Cush (Lit City boss and one quarter of Future Brown), Durban does a nice line in jungle and footwork laced atmospherics. It's very much worth clicking play on his Soundcloud and settling in for a right good afternoon. His latest is Mash Dem Down, a cover of the 1995 jungle classic by UK duo Rude & Deadly. He's toughened the intro, sharpened the edges, put that sub-bass centre-stage and generally brought everything into focus. It's like a HD version of a vinyl memory. Listen out for a debut release proper from Durban in 2014.
