Premiere: Cloudface - 'Devonian Garden' EP

Dig into the sweet, dreamlike pressure of Vancouver electronic artist Cloudface.

Vancouver electronic artist David Reynolds, otherwise known as Cloudface, is set to release a new EP on local label Mood Hut later this month, and we’re happy to exclusively stream the whole record here on Dummy ahead of its release.

The term ‘dreaminess’ can be used to describe Reynold’s music, and in a lot of ways, it’s appropriate. His compositions are made up of tactile hardware synthesizers and drum machines, all of which display his glowing, analogue take on Detroit and Chicago styles, making him one of the most outstanding new producers in operation. Having contributed a particularly exquisite track called Acid Fades to the ‘Cold Holiday’ compilation for label-of-the-moment Opal Tapes last year, Reynolds has also put out a techno and acid-leaning cassette EP, titled ‘Wyre Drive’, on the Dummy mix alumni No UFO’s-operated Nice Up International label. His latest offering, the ‘Devonian Garden’ EP, continues to take things in a deeper direction, showcasing delightful moments composed of strangely uplifting yet soothing lounge, ambient melodies. No exact release date has been announced yet but it is expected in late March.

Mood Hut will release Cloudface – ‘Devonian Garden’ EP in late March 2013.
