Premiere: Bipolar Sunshine – Where Did The Love Go? (Kirk Spencer remix)

The Manchester vocalist's new single gets a radical alteration from Nottingham's Kirk Spencer.

Manchester vocalist Bipolar Sunshine's new single, Where Did The Love Go?, has been reworked by Nottingham producer and STRANGERZOO label/collective founder Kirk Spencer.

Do a side-by-side comparison of the original song and Spencer's remix and you'll see the extent to which it's been altered. For starters, Bipolar Sunshine's song is a lot happier – Spencer turns it into a far darker beast, a reverberating bass drum thump driving the shifting, Gesaffelstein-esque synths and pitched down vocals. Still, a few rays of light break through at the halfway mark, turning into a hip hop beat before returning to its gridlocked groove.

If you want to take a drift back in time, listen to Kirk Spencer's Dummy Mix from last year.

The Aesthetic Recordings / Polydor released Where Did The Love Go on February 4th 2014.
