Premiere: Bart Davenport - Girl Gotta Way (Peaking Lights remix)

Peaking Lights – fresh from release recent album 'Cosmic Logic', not to mention production with the Sun Araw-led Duppy Gun group – have remixed the latest single from Bart Davenport. 

But who is Bart Davenport? Davenport has played in loads of bands and released loads of solo material in the past, but always in relative obscurity, something which you might chalk up to his affection for less-than-trendy music – sophisticated pop groups like Prefab Sprout and The Blue Nile, yacht rock, blue-eyed soul, etc.

Peaking Lights keep with the tropical Balearica vibe of their recent material, setting sun-soaked synths and strings against Davenport's guitar lines, pop songwriting, and rich vocal. If we're keeping up those Prefab Sprout comparisons, then nerdish trainspotters might notice that the synth sound that Peaking Lights introduce at around the six-and-a-half-minute mark is very Appetite-ish.
