Pioneer DJ announce series of workshops for people of colour in the UK

Pioneer DJ have just announced a new series of workshops for people of colour across the UK throughout October.

Aiming to break down the boundaries to participation that exist in the music industry, people of colour that haven’t DJ’d before will have the chance to learn new skills and gain insight into effective ways to pursue a career in music.

The workshop topics will include: An Introduction to DJing, An Introduction to Scratching, and an Introduction to Production. Participants will have the chance to learn new skills using Pioneer DJ equipment under the guidance of DJ schools, Pioneer DJ staff and international artists including Genius Elijah, Cutmaster Swift, A.G. and more.

The DJ equipment manufacturer hosted its first Start From Scratch networking event on Sunday August 7 at London’s Boxpark Wembley. With over 200 registrations, the event in collaboration with On The Rise DJ Academy, provided attendees with a platform to learn new DJ skills and network while giving them the chance to progress their music careers.

This is not the first time the DJ equipment manufacturer has launched a workshop of this kind. Back in March, they announced a series of non-male workshops to celebrate International Women’s Day before putting on a similar set of classes for aspiring DJs and producers from the LGBTQI+ community towards the start of summer.

The first workshop will take place on October 17 2022 at On The Rise DJ Academy in London, with more scheduled throughout the month in both London and Manchester. Promising participants could have the chance to be sponsored by Pioneer DJ through a local DJ school course and beyond.
