Pharmakon - Crawling on Bruised Knees

With a title like Crawling on Bruised Knees you can expect a track to engage with the idea of a painful, ghoulish procession. 22-year-old Margaret Chardiet AKA Pharmakon, who will release her debut LP ‘Abandon’ on Sacred Bones on May 14, with this first cut prepares us for her vision of the apocalypse. The NY-based noise artist builds a one-way nightmare made of pristine percussions, engulfing drones and smothered vocals which nearly echoes the sharp-edged electronics of early Diamanda Galás. As the original double meaning of her moniker Pharmakon evokes, Chardiet’s music can devastate like a fatal poison and still lure you with the promise of a cure.
