Panda Bear is meeting The Grim Reaper early next year

'Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper', the hugely-anticipated follow-up to 'Tomboy', is slated for release on January 12th 2015.

Finally, the highly-awaited follow up to Panda Bear’s 'Tomboy' gets a formal announcement with a release date of January 12th next year. 'Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper' has been teased endlessly, with reports earlier in the year that the album would be released around this time. Noah Lennox has been slowly drip-feeding new material in the past couple of years but unsurprisingly Marijuana Makes My Day hasn’t made it onto the tracklist.

Lennox also ties in a surprise release today of an EP through iTunes titled 'Mr Noah', which features the title track and lead single for the LP as well as three b-sides. The single Mr Noah lays waste to the choral hymns that infiltrated his last album and shows the most forceful, confident version of Panda Bear yet with an accompanying music video documenting the messy demise of a relationship. Words from Lennox himself about the evolution of his sound with this record: "It’s sort of marking change — not necessarily an absolute death, but the ending of something, and hopefully the beginning of something else."
