Earlier this month we hosted an exclusive premiere of Qingming, a brand new track from Dublin-based producer Orquesta who was all packed and ready to head off to the Red Bull Music Academy, this year hosted in New York City. Such is the RBMA’s knack for selecting the brightest young things to join them that we were excited to help introduce Orquesta, and now we have further proof of his talents with his as-promised EP.

Coming straight from the RBMA studios, Orquesta’s ‘Bray’ EP develops on his passion for Latin American rhythms and grooves with a less driving house pace than Qingming; there’s gorgeous inflections of steel drums, melancholy string arrangements, light acoustic guitar picks and tactile movements of bird calls emerging from lush, rushes of scenery that speak to a sense of progression and introspection that could well be down to his time at RBMA. As he’s still under the tutelage of the Academy right now only time will tell how his work will develop but, for now, the ‘Bray’ EP is a short but sweet update from a producer we’re really sitting up and taking notice of.
