Original Sugababes sign a £1million record deal
The original Sugababes line-up of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy are back in the studio and looking stronger than ever, as The Sun reports this morning that the group have signed a £1million deal with Polydor Records.
Reports emerged earlier this year that the original girl group (or pop music institution) were getting back together to record new material, although they won’t be allowed to use the name ‘Sugababes’ due to a court ruling.
Since then, it has been revealed that Emeli Sande is writing songs for the group, and Cameron McVey, the producer behind the trio’s 2000 debut album One Touch , is involved with the project. If that means that anything as good as the band’s 1998 lead single ‘Overload’ is on its way (stream below), then it’s definitely worth getting excited for. At least Polydor seem to think so.
