Night Works - The Fool

Gabriel Stebbing has made a child-friendly version of French radical songwriter Georges Brassens' "fuck you" anthem.

Gabriel Stebbing aka Night Works has shared a new song that’s apparently been brewing for over a year. The Fool is a reinterpretation of Putain de Toi, a song by French radical songwriter Georges Brassens. The original song translates (literally) as “fuck you”, so it shouldn’t come as too big a surprise that it’s been renamed – Stebbing seems like such a nice chap that we can’t imagine he’s ever uttered a curse word in his life.

The song will appear on ‘Brassens, Echos d’d‘aujourd’hui’, a covers compilation of Brassens work, featuring contributions from the likes of Nostalgia 77 and Lianne La Havas. Night Works posted a link to the original song on his Facebook page for comparison – that can be heard here.
