Nick Hook - Medium Rare with Machinedrum

Nick Hook, the basketball shirt wearing one out of NYC trio Cubic Zirconia who recently worked with HudMo on the beats for Azealia Banks’ Jumanji, has a new solo EP out next week called ‘Without You’. It’s pretty banging but nestled in the centre and entirely appropriately named is Medium Rare, a tender garage groove he cooked up with Berlin-based pal Machinedrum (LuckyMe/Planet Mu). It rumbles along, a little haunted, a little frayed, but warm and sure enough to do malleable things to your mood.
