New Music: Benny Mails - Aware, The Mixtape

Benny Mails is about to make a difference. The London rapper has demonstrated his supreme ability to bend words and metaphors at will over a number of tracks released throughout his breakout year of 2017, and he has put the icing on the cake by dropping his debut mixtape, Aware.

In it, Mails' music becomes a melting pot for rampant boom-bap hip-hop on tracks like 'Mantra' and smoothed jazz and funk on the laid back Art Daley-assisted 'Senses', while still leaving room for impressive introspection on the title track, featuring Marika Hackman. The mixtape is a journey into his world, and the ultimate message of coming out on the other side, intact and ready to take on any and everything.
