Mumdance - Springtime

Unknown to the Unknown gear up to release an evocative closer from the slanted grime producer's comeback mixtape.

Mumdance's free mixtape 'Twist and Turns' was a welcome surprise in the summer of last year, a return to the electro-grime turf he originally helped to cultivate after a two year-hiatus. Of all the tracks on the tape (which included collaborations with Logos, since released by Keysound Recordings), it was the last two soaring, synth-led tracks stood out as the cleanest expressions of greener pastures for Mumdance, and Springtime has rightfully been picked up to lead a new EP on UTTU.

Refined but rugged with minimal percussion, it's an excellent tune and further proof that more producers reworking eski/sino grime today should be focusing on teasing out those heart-wrenching melodies rather than cluttering up the drums.

Unknown to the Unknown will release the 'Springtime' EP on February 3rd 2014.
