Mogwai to release first remix album since 1998

The great Mogwai are currently working on remixes of last year's 'Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will' album with an abundance of interesting artists to create new album 'A Wrenched Virile Lore'.

Glaswegian post-rock band Mogwai announced via their website today that they are in the process of creating a remix album. ‘A Wrenched Virile Lore’ will contain remixed tracks from their 2011 album ‘Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will’ with contributions so far from the likes of Canada-based ambient artist Tim Hecker (who is fresh from collaborations with Oneohtrix Point Never), The Soft Moon, RM Hubbert, Robert Hampson, Zombi, Justin Broadrick, Xander Harris, Umberto and Cyclob. The LP will be their first remix album since 1998’s ‘Kicking A Dead Pig’ which featured impressive patrons such as My Bloody Valentine, Surgeon and Max Tundra. ‘A Wrenched Virile Lore’ is set to be available on CD, LP and digital release, dates yet to be announced. Until then, here’s a free download of Xander Harris’ How To Be A Werewolf remix:
