Mixcloud's Worldwide Vibe is returning with an 18-hour marathon livestream of South African music

Que DJ, Pussy Party, Africori showcase and many more will be taking part

After the success of Mixcloud’s Worldwide Vibe: Canada earlier in the year, the livestream event is back once again, this time turning its attention to South Africa’s rich cultural heritage by spotlighting its local creators and curators.

Thirteen DJs and DJ collectives are set to come together on September 10th in an 18-hour live stream marathon, showcasing the best of “Mzanzi House”: the term coined for the rainbow of sounds and electronic genres that evolved in South Africa, including the likes of Amapiano, Gcom, Kwaito, to name a few.

Featuring Que DJ, Pussy Party, Africori showcase, Roses Are Red, Vogue Nights Jozi, Globalize Yourself Stereo and more, this virtual gathering will be a testament to hybrid, “IRL-URL” events, and the unique ways artists continue to connect with new audiences.

The month-long tribute will culminate with ‘The House Down South’, a panel discussion hosted by Setumo-Thebe and DJ Christos, inviting tastemakers within South African electronic music to explore the pivotal moments in SA’s electronic music history up to now. Taking place on September 30, the hosts will dig deeper into what a sustainable music ecosystem looks like for Mzansi music creators.

The full lineup includes: A11 Radio; Africori Presents DJ Obiza + Blaqnick; Future Nostalgia; Globalize Yourself Stereo; Hamshack Radio; Lilies Radio; Pussy Party; Que DJ; Roses Are Red; Swak Catalog; The House Down South; The Other Radio; and Vogue Nights.

Stream Times: Friday 10th Sept – Saturday 11th Sept
09:00 – 04:00 (GMT +2) – SA TIME
