Mikky Ekko - Kids (Cid Rim remix)

LuckyMe affiliate Cid Rim turns in a funky remix of the pop singer while hinting at a new EP.

LuckyMe dropped a really great mini-album from Vienesse producer Cid Rim last year, and since then he's been pretty understated, mostly busying himself with remixes (his rework of vowel-averse band Chvrches was a big'un). Today he's taken on another high profile act – Mikky Ekko.

Despite collaborations with Rihanna and Clams Casino, Ekko is hardly a thrilling prospect, and the original version of Kids is a staid piano piece. Thankfully Cid Rim helps throw the thing a little out of wack, keeping it large and anthemic while adding his own idiosyncracies and even managing to make it a little bit funky.

Cid Rim also uploaded a new profile picture to Facebook earlier today with a caption reading "(LM014). Finally. Mute." For the uninitiated, "LM" is the LuckyMe catalogue number, and there is a conspicuous hole in their output for an LM014 (Jacques Greene and Obey City's recent releases were the 15th and 16th releases respectively). So, you know – expect a new, delayed Cid Rim EP for the label some time soon.
