Megan Thee Stallion was shot during incident involving Tory Lanez
Megan Thee Stallion has issued a statement confirming she suffered gunshot wounds over the weekend.
Earlier this week news emerged of an incident that resulted in the arrest of Canadian rapper Tory Lanez. According to reports, police were called to an altercation involving gun-fire outside a private function in Hollywood Hills with officers later finding a concealed weapon in Lanez’s SUV.
It was initially thought that Megan Thee Stallion, a passenger during the time of the search, was taken to hospital after cutting her foot on some broken glass in the car, however, the Houston rapper has since revealed that she was injured by gunfire.
Taking to social media to clear up the story, Megan stated: “The narrative that is being reported about Sunday’s morning events are inaccurate and I’d like to set the record straight”
“On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me. I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.”
“This whole experience was an eye-opener and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy”, she added.
Megan explained that she is “incredibly grateful to be alive” and that she’s expected to make a full recovery.
Tory Lanez was arrested on felony charges and was later released on a $35,000 bail bond.
