Mary Anne Hobbs is getting a show on 6 Music

The BBC have this morning announced that Mary Anne Hobbs will be joining Radio 6 Music as the presenter of the Weekend Breakfast Show. The broadcaster, notable for her early championing of dubstep and grime, has worked for the BBC before, but was presenting on Xfm most recently.

The Beeb promise “a lively, upbeat show – packed with the music she loves, and plenty of audience interaction” and also say it will act as an entry point to the rest of the weekly 6 Music schedule, in a further boost to the resurgent digital station. The new Weekend Breakfast Show will be aired on Saturdays and Sundays from 7am to 10am, and the first will be on the 5th January 2013.
