Live music can resume outdoors in England this Saturday

Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden announced the news in a press briefing

Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden has announced that outdoor theatre, music and dance events are to be permitted in England from this Saturday, July 11th.

Indoor pools, gyms and other sports facilities are set to follow, reopening on July 25th.

The live music industry has taken a beating due to the effects of Covid-19, and a £1.57 billion support package for the arts was recently unveiled by the government to help it through this time.

The Brixton Courtyard has unveiled a series of socially-distanced events including sets from Leon Vynehall, Sherelle and Erol Alkan.

Other artists have been making live plans in keeping with social distancing, including Wiley, who just announced a series of drive-in gigs this August.
