Laurel Halo releases EP under new name on brand-new Mute imprint

Brooklyn producer-of-note Laurel Halo will release under the name 'King Felix' on Liberation Technologies.

Words by: Charlie Jones

Laurel Halo, the Brooklyn-based producer behind two of recent times’ best EPs, ‘King Felix’ [Hippos In Tanks, 2010] and ‘Hour Logic’ [ibid, 2011], is now also recording music as King Felix. The ‘Spring’ EP will be out on 19th March 2012 and is really quite good.

The first release will be on a new, electronic focussed imprint of Mute called Liberation Industries. Mute was established by electronic artist Miller and will ran by Patrick O’Neill, who has Actress, T++, Moritz Von Oswald, Joy Orbison, Darkstar and Zomby on his CV. We are promised in a press release that “a commitment to vinyl product and inventive methods of releasing each work” will be key to Liberation Technologies.
