Laura Welsh - Cold Front

Following on from her song Unravel, Laura Welsh has announced her new single Cold Front. It’s a slow electronic number, seemingly minimal but slowly unravelling its intricacies on closer listens – the strings, the synth pads, the slight snare rolls, the sheer polish on her vocal, and the heavy R&B influence in the chorus. Welsh is a strong singer, too, although there’s a sense that her voice may get a little lost against the backdrop of British R&B vocalists that have broken through over the past couple of years.

Polydor/Outsiders will release Cold Front on the 15th July 2013.
