Landshapes - Moongee

Heavyset new song from the London four-piece, released in honour of their February residency at the Total Refreshment Centre, with Tirzah, The Invisible, and more set to play.

"London can feel a bit lonely in music," says Luisa Gerstein of Landshapes, "Even though it's saturated with bands, it's hard to find community in that. As a band it's of course something that we crave, and we love playing live, the good shows are what you live for."

Rather than moan about how isolated the city can sometimes feel, the four-piece have decided to actually do something about it: they'll be hosting a residency at the Total Refreshment Centre on the final three Thursdays of February, inviting a few bands to come down and play.

So far, the names are all absolutely brill: Tirzah, The Invisible, the DEEP THROAT choir, and Ada are all confirmed, with more to come in the future.

In honour of this residency, Landshapes have shared a new number that they describe as "a concise version of a 20-minute jam". Recorded down in Cornwall, the heavyset MOONGEE became the starting point for their new album for Bella Union, following last year's 'Rambutan'.

Landshapes at The Total Refreshment Centre takes place on the final three Thursdays of February 2015 (12th, 19th, and 26th) (more information and tickets).
