Kode9, Suzanne Ciani among the names performing at Semibreve festival 2019

This year's edition will see performances, workshops, talks and exhibitions across beautiful locations and venues

Semibreve festival has become an essential event in the scope of international electronic music and this year is returning to Braga, Portugal, for its ninth edition.

This year follows on from the success of previous lineups with performances from the likes of Morton Subotnick, the iconic composer who produced the first piece of electronic work ever commissioned by a record label in 1967.

The five-time Grammy nominated electronic pioneer Suzanne Ciani is also set to take to the stage, along with a Semibreve debut from Kode9, the selector whose early sets and radio shows helped spread the South London sound internationally in the 2000s.

Two of the world’s finest exploratory electronic musicians Oren Ambarchi and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe will be presenting a world premiere of their new duo collaboration, whilst Felicia Atkinson, the visual artist, experimental musician, poet and co-publisher of Shelter Press will be presenting her latest record ‘The Flower and the Vessel’.

This year’s edition will see performances, workshops, talks and exhibitions across beautiful locations and venues, including the fascinating church Capela da Imaculada Conceição, Theatro Circo, contemporary arts complex GNRation, Centésima Página and a medieval saloon

Semibreve takes place between the 25th and 27th of October 2019.
