When Kilo Kish was growing up in her hometown of Orlando in the late 90s/early 00s, Lou Pearlman was building a money-making musical empire based out of the city and she, like many others around the world, gorged on saccharine teen pop. Her recent cover of (New Kids on the Block lead singer and later signee to Pearlman’s label) Jordan Knight’s really-pretty-wild solo single Give It To You is re-imagined through that lens: slowed and glazed by producer Caleb Stone and de-sexed by Kilo Kish – whose nostalgia may have clouded the very suggestive undertones in the original.
