Kendrick Lamar has received the key to his native city, Compton, just as he prophesied in the verse on his remix of Jidenna's Classic Man in 2015.
Rap-Up points out that the ceremony for Kendrick's latest honour will take place on February 13th and overnight, the rapper was in dialogue with the city's mayor Aja Brown on Twitter. The news follows Kendrick's latest campaign with the National Mentoring Partnership in America calling on the public to support the organisation through his Pay It Forward public service announcement.
Also, Kendrick Lamar shared a new video advertising his latest collection with sports retailer Reebok yesterday. The Kendrick Lamar Classic Leather sneaker is on sale tomorrow and was first worn by Kendrick during his performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last week. Kendrick also debuted a new track called Untitled 2 during his appearance.
