Kendrick Lamar pulls in 13 VMA nominations

Kendrick Lamar gets four solo nominations and nine as a featured artist, while Flying Lotus gets a nod for his Never Catch Me video.

The nominations for the 2015 MTV VMAs were announced yesterday via Beats 1 Radio.

You'll know all the names on here: there's your Mark Ronsons and Jessie Js and Ariana Grandes all present and accounted for. Taylor Swift gets nine nominations as a lead artist, while Kendrick Lamar gets four as a lead artist and nine as a featured artist, giving him a massive combined total of 13 (equally Lady Gaga's previous record number of nominations). Elsewhere, Fetty Wap and Flying Lotus both get nods.

After the nominations went out, Nicki Minaj took to Twitter and wrote in a series of tweets, "If I was a different 'kind' of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well. If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year".

Check the list of nominated clips below, and vote at vma.mtv.com for your favourite. The live awards ceremony, hosted by Miley Cyrus, goes out on August 30th.
