Kanye West tops Christian charts for the first time with 'Jesus Is King'
As well as being his ninth consecutive album to debut at the Billboard number one spot, Kanye West‘s ‘Jesus Is King’ has scaled the Top Christian Album and Top Gospel Album charts to the number one spot.
This marks a career first for Kanye, who up until now has never charted in this section of the industry, given some of the more controversial themes explored on previous releases.
Despite the undeniable commercial success of the new album, ‘Jesus Is King’ has received a mixed bag of reviews from fans and critics alike, with some viewing the LP as the rapper at his best and others noting a poorly conceived, even boring manner of writing; lacking the stylistic muscle of his older work.
The album has gone down a hit within the US right-wing press and Christianity-championing outlets like Breitbart and the Daily Caller, who, since identifying the rapper’s unwavering support for President Trump have somewhat championed him, using West as the poster-boy for their political agenda.
Kanye West is cracking the culture code.@kanyewest’s new album #JesusIsKing is the epitome of fearless creativity and “dangerous, unapproved” ideas.
Leftists always try to silence those who are speaking truth. They’re waging a war on our family and culture.
