Kane West - Mexicans

A daft and wonderful dance track from Kane West, graduating from PC Music to Turbo Recordings.

Kane West wowed us with his debut mini-album 'Western Beats' last year, a collection of MIDI-fied house and techno tracks released via PC Music that were totally daft but also extremely well-made and better than most 'proper' dance tracks. 'Western Beats' was able to connect the dots between jacking Chicago house, silly sample-centric pop acts like S'Express and Hithouse, and the raw drum rhythms of an artist like Maurice Fulton, all with the sense of humour of an artist like Mr. Oizo or Akufen.

Since then, Kane has been playing shows all over the globe, including in Canada, the country where Tiga's label Turbo Recordings are based. Turbo are set to release Kane's new EP 'Expenses Paid'.

Lead track Mexicans is one we've had stuck in our head since hearing Kane play it all over the place – including a rare live set at a Dummy show, as well as down in Brighton at The Great Escape – and we're just incredibly happy to be able to hear this wonderful piece of music in full. Don't forget us when you're famous, Kane!

It's a bit of an open secret at this point that Kane West is also a member of Kero Kero Bonito, who will be doing one of their super fun DJ sets at Dummy's show with Empress Of at Power Lunches tomorrow (July 29th). Don't miss it.

Turbo Recordings release 'Expenses Paid' on August 14th 2015.
