Just Friends - Don't Tell Me

An odd combination of players on paper, Just Friends is a collaboration between introverted electronic music producer Nicolas Jaar and singer Sasha Spielberg, daughter of Steven Spielberg. They debuted the project back in 2012 with Avalanche, a wee Leonard Cohen tribute, and now they're lining up a new 10" release for Record Store Day called Don't Tell Me. Spielberg's airy vocal and the light Latin-style guitars on Don't Tell Me might make the whole thing feel ready to float away at any moment, but the drums and squelching synthesizers definitely pack enough weight to keep it grounded.
